Elizabeth Banks is an American actress, director, writer, and producer. She is best known as Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games film series (2012–2015) and in the Pitch Perfect film series (2012–2017) as Gail Abernathy-McKadden.
Before trying to act, she went to baseball and horseback riding as a young girl.
Elizabeth is the eldest of four children of Ann (née Wallace) and Mark P. Mitchell. Her father, a Vietnam veteran, was a factory worker for General Electric and her mother worked in a bank.
Her real name is Elizabeth Irene Mitchell. She married Max Handelman in 2003. They have two sons via surrogacy named Felix and Magnus.
